Safe operating code for acetylene cylinders
Date:2024.09.25
Because acetylene is easily mixed with air, it can form explosive mixtures, and exposure to open flames and high heat energy can cause combustion explosions. It is determined that the operation of acetylene cylinders must be carried out in strict accordance with safety procedures. What are the specifications for the use of acetylene cylinders?
1. The acetylene bottle should be equipped with a special backbreaker and pressure reducer. For unstable workplaces and more movement, it should be installed on a special vehicle.
2. It is strictly prohibited to knock, collide and exert strong vibration, so as not to sink the porous filler in the bottle to form a cavity, affecting the storage of acetylene.
3. The acetylene bottle should be placed upright, and it is strictly prohibited to use it lying down. Because the acetone in the bottle will flow out with acetylene when lying down, and even flow into the rafter through the pressure reducer, it is very dangerous.
4. Use a special wrench to open the acetylene cylinder. When opening the acetylene bottle, the operator should stand behind the side of the valve port and act gently. Do not use up the gas in the bottle. In winter, 0.1-0.2mpa should be maintained, and in summer, 0.3Mpa residual pressure should be maintained.
5. The operating pressure shall not exceed 0.15Mpa, and the gas transmission speed shall not exceed 1.5~2 cubic meters (m3)/ hour/bottle.
6. The temperature of the acetylene bottle should not exceed 40℃. Avoid exposure in summer. Because the temperature in the bottle is too high, the solubility of acetone to acetylene will be reduced, and the pressure of acetylene in the bottle will rise sharply.
7. Acetylene cylinders should not be close to heat sources and electrical equipment.
8. The bottle valve is frozen in winter, and it is strictly prohibited to bake with fire. If necessary, thaw at a high temperature of less than 40 ° C.
9. The connection between the acetylene reducer and the bottle valve must be reliable. Do not use in the case of air leakage. Otherwise, a mixture of acetylene and air will form, which will explode upon contact with an open flame.
10. It is strictly prohibited to use in places with poor ventilation and radiation, and shall not be placed on insulating materials such as rubber. The distance between the acetylene cylinder and the oxygen cylinder should be greater than 10m.
11. If the gas cylinder is found defective, the operator shall not repair it without authorization, and shall notify the safety supervisor to return it to the gas plant for treatment.
